Jocelyn Pedersen



Award-winning professional writer, Jocelyn Pedersen, holds Master of Professional Writing and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish degrees from the University of Oklahoma. Her feature articles have been published nationally by the Associated Press and on Yahoo! News. She contributes regularly to the Norman Transcript and has multiple front-page credits. She also writes for Oklahoma Living Magazine and has been published in The National Association for Music Education: Oklahoma Music, Norman Magazine, Abner Magazine, Silk Magazine, Den Danske Pioneer (a national Danish-American newspaper), The Purcell Register, The Moore American, The Cleveland County Chronicle, and The Noble Free Press. Pedersen writes and edits features, hard news, web content, advertising copy, brochures, press releases, tag lines, bios, blogs, resumes, is an experienced technical writer and has assisted in grant writing.

She travels to businesses to teach on-site lunch-and-learn seminars where she helps employees brush up on grammar and polish their business writing skills. She teaches Travel Writing Genres and has taught lab sections of Writing for Mass Media in the University of Oklahoma’s Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Currently, she’s assisting on the lecture side of Writing for Mass Media. Pedersen won first place in the Feature Writing category at the Oklahoma Writer’s Federation, Inc. contest (April, 2010).
Her short story entitled Gripped is published on Kindle in an anthology titled Spellbound: Tales of the Fantastic.

Originally from Canada, she has traveled extensively and has lived in Canada, Singapore, and the United States. She lives in Oklahoma with her children and way too many pets.
